Physical-object documentation

This is a photographic record; no physical inspection or measurements have been completed for this archive. Use the recording standard to add verified dimensions, markings, individual photographs and provenance.

The hook as part of the body

The catalog illustrates a single hook resting within a groove and describes its release on a strike. That arrangement explains the design’s purpose: travel through vegetation with the hook point protected. “Weedless” is the product’s historical designation, not a guarantee established by this archive. 1939 catalog, reproduced in Slusar, pp. 369–371.

The catalog offers five weedless-spoon entries in the regular 16 patterns. A painted example’s exact identity depends on its dimensions, hardware, and construction as well as its finish.
